Look At These Magnificent Women!

“A very small sampling of the female artists now in their 70s, 80s and 90s we should have known about decades ago.”

Awhile back some guy online tried to insult me by telling me only little old women must like my work. He thought he thoroughly succeeded because I asked him,  “What is wrong with little old women?” He thought he must be correct and that’s some mark of a boring artist and how I would hate to be a boring artist.  I literally meant, why would it be a bad thing to please little old women?

I LOVE little old women. I love them so much, I hope to be one some day. Even if it were true that little old women were my only audience, I’d have no problem with it. I’d be so proud that I catered to an audience other people look down on and forget about except when the need for an insult arises. What would be better in life than to make someone who is treated as if they don’t exist feel like I get them and care about them through my art?
Granted, no one wants to be boring, but if little old women find me exciting, I’m not really boring am I? Have you seen an excited little old woman? They are the best!

After all, I’ve known some kick ass little old women and women who will hopefully be little old women along side me one day. I’d be just fine if my life was one long episode of The Golden Girls.

So let’s take a moment and celebrate these women who have been ignored for too damn long.
