The Downside To The Nomadic Life

There is actually downside. I know, I couldn’t believe it either.
No matter where I go I miss where I’ve been.

I’m so happy to spend time with my family. I was so pleased to know I was going to see them and be able to have hilarious conversations and see people whom I’ve known my entire life.

It had been less than four months since I saw my brother and uncle and I’ve gone much longer without anyone I’ve ever known, but I really felt like I was coming home when I thought about seeing them again.

I really miss Apalach. I miss the yoga studio and gallery peeps so much. I feel like I’m missing out on the yoga classes and the art community.  Don’t even get me started on the sunshine and warm weather.

However, I am thoroughly enjoying doing all the things I could not do down there. Like drink a ski (my first soda in over a year) and go to Barnes and Noble (at least 3 times this week alone, the joy).

Not to mention soaking up ALL the company of those I cherish.  This morning I even went for a “run” with the bro. He walked. He walked faster than I ran.  It’s okay, I knew he would. I love my slow runs.

All the dogs came along and Gunnar tried out his new weights. I had to buy him some soft ankle weights for his backpack because my metal plates were causing quite the damage to my shins/knee caps.

They are all sleeping peacefully, but I know it is a lie. As soon as one hears a noise they will all turn into Tazmanian Devils.
