I’m going to confess something. I do not like saying I hate a painting because the ones I hate are usually the ones everyone else loves.

I also don’t like saying I love a painting because maybe people will think I don’t like ones that they like.

That being said,  the entire time I did this,  like most paintings, I just didn’t like it.  Usually I have hope of fixing them.

Today I’m feeling very overwhelmed and I tried talking myself out of painting.  I really felt like I was just going through the motions to get it done.  I didn’t care that it was not going to be good.

As soon as I finished,  I realized, I actually like it a lot.  I’m sure some may disagree,  but I especially love the splotch on her front calf. That’s the exact reason I love this medium and it is a bit of respite in a trying day. That splotch is my happy place.

Watercolor is simply lovely.
