Elisha Dasenbrock is creating a series of paintings on reclaiming one’s identity after different types of abuse. These paintings are 4′ x 3′ watercolor on claybord. The large-scale adds intensity and power to the provocative subject. She uses a limited palette of 4 colors of French Ultramarine, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Quidacridone Gold, and Nuetral Tint to create a rich, cohesive look.
Part of the proceeds from this series, as well as subscriptions to Dasenbrock’s Patreon account for an exclusive, behind the scenes look at creating such a large series will go to NCADV and to Sarah.
Dasenbrock has a BFA from the American Academy of Art. She lost her parents at a young age and eventually moved to Chicago at the age of 20. She now lives in an RV with her dogs as she travels the US, when she isn’t taking care of her Grandmother.
Dasenbrock is a sustaining member of the Illinois Watercolor Society and is represented by The Bowery Art Gallery in Apalachicola, Florida.
