I grabbed one of my first finished sketchbooks and pulled out a few of the better ones. I would have shared all the pages, but it’s large and won’t fit on the scanner. I hate editing photos. I hate editing photos I took with a camera instead of scanning the most.
These were all done between 2009-2010, I believe.
My first attempt at the fountain by the Museum of the Art Institute during watercolor class.
Another sketch from watercolor class. Sketching from life on Michigan Ave.
My second attempt to draw the fountain. I kind of like the first attempt better.
Things laying around my studio.
The one and only other attempt at a windmill. There was some sort of art event at some sort of park in some sort of Chicago suburb.
In class sketch.
More things laying around my studio. Sometimes I just like to draw random things until the page is filled. It doesn't look very nice, but it's fun to just sketch without worrying about the over all layout.
Sketches for the children's book I'm still telling myself I'll finish some day. (From a photo.)
Another sketch for the children's book. (From a photo.)
One more for the children's book. (From a photo.)
A sketch at a park on the road trip to Florida to see Joe's grandparents. They have some pretty cool trees.
One of my favorite sketches ever. It was a "lab" idea from 52 Labs for Mixed Media Artists.. Randomly and blindly pick out 3-4 drawing utensils and make a drawing. Fun times. (From a photo.)
