Just When I Think I’m Out

They pull me back in.

A week ago I went to fill my propane. My fridge gas ignition would not stop sparking. Since this is dangerous, the guy tried to help me fix it. I couldn’t turn off the power to it. The ignition switch no longer had any tension. (Seriously, WTF? I had just turned it off and turned it back on the night before and it was fine.) He pulled the front panel off the fridge and we tried replacing the switch with one I had bought for another switch and didn’t use. It didn’t work. The guy (who’s so freakin’ nice) disconnected the switch, which turned the spark off, filled up my tank, put everything back together and helped me manually light the fridge.

I thought, “Jeeze, at this rate, I may as well just get a new fridge.” With how much it is costing me to stay here, I probably could have. Not that it is expensive. I just prefer free. But it is hard to beat perfect for 20 bucks a night, including electricity, swimming, dumping, freshwater, and lovely peace and quiet. Not to mention a great place to run with a few hills thrown in for challenge. I wake up to at least 2 rabbits in my “yard” every day. Plus squirrels and an occasional chipmunk.

Although, I do think they stopped keeping track of my days. Note to self, teenage boys are not the most reliable employees.

Where was I?

Ah, fridge problems. What is up with that, yo?

The nice fridge repairman finally called me back about the part. I was about to give up and leave without it. He tells me there is no part. Boo. Then he tells me there is a brand new fridge in it for me. Yea! The company is going to replace the fridge. I may have to pay his hourly price, but I’m not complaining. I am a little worried it will be worse than the one I have. (Not that mine is a prize, but it could be worse.) The only real downside is that it will be black and possibly faux wood-paneled. Ugh. That’s what I had and painted over. My white fridge isn’t stunning, but it is better than a large black hole in my kitchen.

I’m hoping I can find some “stainless steel” or white panels to replace faux wood. If it is black it will just have to stay black and my pretty white kitchen will just have to deal.

So yeah, my luck, finally not horrible. Maybe.

At least I have spent time with the niece, organized most of the RV , and developed a very nice routine. I’ve actually started working out first thing in the morning. Never thought that would become a thing.
